Up's and down’s for GBmoto at Silverstone in what was an exhilarating race.

The two racers started well finishing QP1 in fifth and sixth place after a flurry of red flag incidents over the Qualifying Practice. The GBmoto riders struggled slightly in the second Qualifying Practice as the track heavily favoured the horsepower of the BMW and Kawasaki machines. They managed a sixth and eleventh place on the grid. Tristan Palmer started brightly jumping up to third place and after 3 laps into the lead, however all was not great as Gary Johnson lost the front end of his Global Reach Partners Honda and crashed out of the race. Tristan was unable to hold the lead as the BMW and Kawasaki bikes bared down, it was a close four way dice which saw the lead change numerous times and ultimately leading to Luke Quigley on BMW take the lead with Tristan crossing the line in second place. GBmoto Racing and Global Reach Partners would also like to congratulate Richard Cooper, who accumulated enough points this weekend to secure the 2011 Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship. Here are Tristan’s thoughts on the race - "Obviously I am very happy to be back on the podium. I thought I could have won it and perhaps should have won it. I made a little mistake on the last lap, braking as hard as I could because I knew Luke's bike was so quick. I ran a bit wide and he snatched the lead. It's a great result at a track where we thought we would struggle a lot more with the bike. We've found a really good setting, which should work at Brands Hatch as well. This gives me a lot of confidence going into the last round of the season."
