Tommy settles for second at Snetterton
Beaten into second place by John Hopkins after a he had held the lead briefly.
Hill said: "On the last lap all I was thinking is 'I have to win this race' but all credit to John as he just had the edge. I was feeling good in the opening laps but the grip level was dropping off after the safety car and I knew I just had to do everything I can to try and take that first win here. I gave it everything, one hundred and ten percent to get passed Hopper and it could have ended in tears because on the last lap there were a couple of times I was close to wiping him out, especially at Coram! We didn't quite get the win but a second place and more Podium Credits for the Swan Yamaha team was what we needed so we will see what we can do in race two."
