Global Reach Partners sponsored rider Tommy Hill wins the BSB Championship
It was an unbelievable last race of the season on Sunday which saw Tommy Hill pip rival John Hopkins by 0.006 seconds which is roughly the equivalent of a superbike front wheel.
Tommy Hill started the final 3 races and the final showdown 8 points behind the leader Hopkins and that lead was widened after the first race where Hopkins finished 3rd and Hill 4th pushing the gap to 11 points with only two races to go.
The second race in the final showdown was a completely different story for Hopkins who finished in a disappointing 12th place. Hill capitalised on Hopkins poor performance and finished 4th. The gap now just 2 points between the racers going into the final race of the season with Hopkins on top.
The third and final race saw Hill and Hopkins trade places for the championship 5 times and the title come down to the last corner of the last lap where Hill managed to snatch victory by the smallest of margins and boost his Championship points tally to 647 points piping Hopkins to the title who ended on 645 points.
The race was without a doubt the best ending to a Superbike Championship and Superbike race for a long time.
