GBMoto Racing make an outstanding start at Donnington!

On Friday, Tristan Palmer qualified on pole position with a very quick 1:34.7 lap and David Johnson also on the front row, with the fourth quickest time, setting the team up well for Sunday's two races. The first race on Sunday saw Tristan taken off his bike and Dave Johnson sealing third place. Race two was a different story. Johnson hassled race one winner, Phil Crowe, into a mistake at Foggy Esses one lap later, then quickly settled into second. This was where both riders finished a brilliant first and second for the team. Mark Smith-Halvorsen, MD at Global Reach Partners and GBMoto Racing Team Principal was delighted with the team's performance: "I'm really happy with the whole team's performance this weekend. We came to Donington as a perfect opportunity to stage a race event before our BSB campaign kicks off in earnest. There was always a possibility of appearing not to be as competitive as we would like and hitting problems early in our testing schedule. However, we not only overcame a few electrical issues, which would no doubt have surfaced at subsequent official BSB tests, but the whole team also performed extremely well within the class outright. Through Dave Johnson's two second places and taking a race win and fastest lap with Tristan Palmer, I couldn't have asked for a better start. More great information was gained on how the bike works best on used race rubber and the team will now move on to its next test with more knowledge and confidence."
