GBmoto challenged at Donington this weekend

After promising lead-up work throughout all sessions, Tristan Palmer finished a solid sixth, after running third for much of the race but narrowly avoiding a disastrous incident on the penultimate lap. Alex Cudlin's fortunes were different, he was taken out on the race warm-up lap. Immediately finding his rhythm, Tristan Palmer put his Global Reach Partners sponsored Honda CBR1000RR in second position after all Free Practice and Qualifying Practice sessions. This placed him in an excellent position for a storming race start. Alex was once again coming to a new circuit, and needed time to learn the track and bike performance around the hilly Leicestershire track. His consistent lap times put him in the top twenty-five all weekend, but a decent race finishing position would require an excellent first lap start. Before the red lights had even gone out, Alex found himself in the gravel after being taken out from behind in Craner Curves during the race warm-up lap. Sore and bruised, Alex limped back to the pitlane. Tristan Palmer made a great race start, taking the holeshot into the first corner. Soon however, the outright power of Richard Cooper's BMW and Howie Mainwaring's Kawasaki relegated Tristan to third position. The race was marred throughout by multiple safety car incidents. On the second last lap, Howie Mainwairing crashed out heavily, forcing Tristan to take rapid avoiding action running onto the grass. Managing to stay upright, he rejoined the fast moving race train in sixth position, where he finally greeted the chequered flag.
